Project Walk A Mile in My Shoes

Project Walk A Mile in My Shoes which is a charity shoe drive that raises new & slightly used women, men, and children shoes and sneakers for the homeless & inner city youth in need. As of today, we have raised over 8,000 pairs of shoes since our start in December of 2008!

This year, we are partnering with Bridging the Gap Africa, a international non profit providing support in Sierra Leone West Africa (www.btga.org). A portion of the shoes collected will be donated to Bridging the Gap and distributed in Sierra Leone.

We are getting ready to celebrate the programs 7th year anniversary on December 13th 2014, with our annual shoe-a-thon that takes place at House Of Adrene on Peter ST from 9am-9pm.

If you would like to assist us in our goal to raise shoes for those in need please contact Charles McCree at projectwalkamile@gmail.com or

#ASCFerguson

Please join or witness Agnes Scott students, faculty, and the downtown Decatur community in participating in a “Die In” in order to bring awareness to the injustice which occurred during the shooting of Ferguson teen Michael Brown.

The Die In will take place on the Main Quad on Agnes Scott College’s campus during the start of community hour on Thursday December 4th. We will lay on the ground promptly at 1pm for 4.5 minutes (Michael Brown’s body lay cold, uncovered, and dead on the street for four and a half hours) in order to show solidarity for the Ferguson movement, and to show respect for the death of Michael Brown.

If you do not wish to participate, we ask that you allow Agnes students to demonstrate their pain during this die in, and that you respect the space of the students during the 4.5 minutes. After the 4.5 minutes are over, you may resume your usual experience on the quad, thank you.
